PLANETARY GEAR MOTORS
These combinations pair a DC motor with an inline planetary gearbox. They are useful when the load requires a slower shaft speed than the motor supplies and the mechanism benefits from an output on the motor axis.
The listed combinations run from PG16-DC050 to PG56-DC997. Ratio and motor winding change the reference output speed and torque; the calculated motor rated-point torque can exceed the gearbox limit, so compare it with the maximum continuous torque of the selected gearbox rather than treating it as an allowable load.
For a suitable combination, review:
- Motor voltage and selected winding
- Output speed at the required load and reduction ratio
- Gearbox continuous torque and application peak loads
- Gearbox diameter, assembly clearance and output shaft interface
Open the series for individual combinations. Gearbox losses, duty cycle and the actual load affect the final operating point.
