ROBOT JOINT MOTORS
Joint drives must move an arm or mechanism through a defined motion profile, often with repeated starts, reversals and changing loads. Selecting a unit requires more than matching a single torque number: the duty cycle and peak demand must fit the drive and its control system.
The current range lists SPC80, SPC100 and SPC120. SPC80 includes rated and peak load torque in the table; some values for SPC100 and SPC120 are not yet listed. Treat missing values as unconfirmed and obtain the relevant specifications before using a model in a design.
Define the joint requirements before comparing models:
- Load torque throughout the movement and peak acceleration demand
- Output speed, ratio and supply voltage
- Controller, feedback and communication compatibility
- Mounting, joint clearance and thermal duty
Check the selected model's individual data and operating limits; peak torque should not be treated as a continuous rating.
