WORM GEARBOXES
Worm gearing can provide substantial speed reduction in a compact assembly. Its input and output arrangement can help route motion through a mechanism where a straight inline drive is inconvenient; check the model drawing for the actual shaft orientation.
WGM370 and WGM4058 differ in housing size, ratios and continuous torque rating. Select a ratio around the required output speed, then assess heat and transmission losses at the intended duty. Do not assume a worm gearbox will hold a load when power is removed; holding behavior depends on the design and operating conditions.
Review these details before specifying a unit:
- Input and output shaft orientation and mounting clearances
- Ratio, working output speed and torque
- Continuous duty, heat and expected starting loads
- Output shaft diameter and motor interface
Confirm the dimensions and limits for the exact WGM variant before integrating it into the machine.
